Antalya
Antalya is a town of some 2.2 million people lying directly on the sea on the southern coast of Mediterranean Turkey. Antalya offers great weather as well as new and old world charm. The town is famed for its golden sandy beaches and the stunning views of the Taurus Mountains and surrounding forests.
Antalya has state of the art, luxury accommodation at affordable prices but also has a legacy of historical monuments and records dating back to 200 BC. The city and its outlying area features ancient monuments dating back to the Roman Empire including Hadrian’s Gate and has an extensive museum with exhibits and artefacts that date back to the Neolithic period. Antalya’s harbour is an active port where there are plenty of sight-seeing venues as well as shopping, bazaars and markets as well as cafes and restaurants with a fine range of local and international cuisine available.
Antalya is famous for its luxury, themed hotels that are replicas of Topkapi, the Kremlin and Venezia Palace, as well as hotels that are replicas of the Titanic and the Concorde.

Golfing and footbol training holidays are becoming more and more popular and Belek is rising as a center for golfing with its 11 golf courses in international standards. Belek with its 40 de luxe resorts is 30 kms from the airport and golf courses are only a few kilometers to the hotels, and some are within the hotels’ territories.
In the harbour part of the city there are plenty of sight-seeing and shopping opportunities. In 2009 this antique part of town is closed to traffic for the comfort of tourists. From Konyaalti to Lara you can find nice bars, pubs, resturants.
First records of the town are recorded as far back as 200 BC, and there are still well-preserved monuments dating back to the Roman times. Today Antalya is a combination of the modern and the ancient, the city features relics and ruins of ancient times including Emperor Hadrian’s Gate, a rich museum covering all kinds of artifacts dating back to neolithic ages, historical baths and fine mosques.
